Lithuanian Apartment Price Index, December 2015

The Ober-Haus Lithuanian apartment price index (OHBI), which records changes in apartment prices in the five major Lithuanian cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys), grew 0.1% in December 2015. The annual apartment price change in the major cities of Lithuania increased to 2.3%.
Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai saw the biggest positive changes in apartment prices recorded in December. Apartment prices in Vilnius grew 0.1% with the average price per square meter reaching EUR 1,326 (+1 EUR/sqm). In the past 12 months, the prices of apartments in Vilnius increased by 3.6% and since the last lowest price level recorded in May 2010 prices have increased by 14.9% (+172 EUR/sqm). Apartment prices in Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai grew 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.1% with the average price per square meter reaching EUR 943 (+1 EUR/sqm), EUR 986 (+2 EUR/sqm) and EUR 564 (+1 EUR/sqm). Apartment prices in Panevėžys remained stable and were the same as in November – 531 EUR/sqm.
In the past 12 months, the prices of apartments grew in all major cities: 3.6% in Vilnius, 0.3% in Kaunas, 1.1% in Klaipėda, 1.2% in Šiauliai and 0.4% in Panevėžys.
